Born in 1978 in Seoul, Korea as a bi-racial American, Josh photographs on the street and in public places.  Josh is mostly a self-taught photographer, although he received early teachings from workshops with Magnum Photos and Santa Fe Photographic Workshops. Aware of the history of the street photography genre, Josh is drawn to taking color frames from reality using an amalgamation of influences from Science Fiction cinema, 1980’s American pop culture, and Western Modernist painting.

Josh's images from India were made into two limited edition artist books produced in collaboration with Denver-based artist Sammy Lee. The books, "Shahjahanabad" and "Mayabheda," are in the permanent collections of the following institutions as well as private collectors: Miami University, Indiana University, Savannah College of Art and Design, UC Berkeley, University of Denver, and the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art.

Josh's work has been featured in the Huffington Post, Reader’s Digest, The Picture Professional, Fraction Magazine, and Street Sweeper Magazine. He has shown work in various exhibitions, such as at Milk Gallery in NYC, the Miami Street Photography Festival, and Addis Foto Fest in Ethiopia.  Josh is also a member of the Denver Street Photography Collective.
